New England Steamship Agents Inc. was founded on September 2, 1991, by Diane Delory, President, and Joel Constantino, Managing Director. NESA Inc. is headquartered in upstate New York. The corporation was originally developed as agent representatives and supervisors of foreign flag vessels carrying breakbulk, liquid bulk and dry cargos calling the upper Hudson River to the Port of Albany. Since our inception we have expanded our service region north to Searsport, Maine, West to the eastern Great Lakes and as far south to Baltimore Maryland. We are proud to be supervising vessels calling 42 U.S. ports and terminals. Primary commodities managed are: on-shore/off shore wind generators and accessories, heavy-lift project cargo, wood pulp and lumber, cocoa bean, bulk sugar, maize, red summer wheat, rock salt, petroleum products, steel re-bar, plate and coils. Our customer base, to name a few, includes Siemens Energy Inc., BBC Chartering, Rickmers Linie, Jumbo Shipping, Big Lift Carriers, MST, Appalacjie Salt, Scotwood Commodities, Allied Salt, Norden A/S, Clipper Shipping, Cosco, Atlantic Bulk and Olendorf.
Ms. Delory began her maritime career over three decades ago as Operations Manager for Radix Group International Inc., a steamship agency, customs brokerage and freight forwarding firm. She was promoted to Regional Manager, a position in which Ms. Delory served until 1991 when she co-founded New England Steamship Agents Inc.

From 1985 to 1991 Mr. Constantino held the position of Export Manager for DHL Worldwide, an international airfreight company. He was instrumental in developing the Heavy-Lift Airfreight Division for DHL locally. Within this realm he was introduced to ocean freight commodities and special projects, an interest he aggressively pursued until partnering with Ms. Delory to launch the opening of New England Steamship Agents Inc. in 1991. Mr. Constantino is credited with the development of the Wind Division for New England Steamship Agents as of 2003, exclusively dedicated to both on-shore and off-shore wind energy projects.

Matthew Delory, Operations Manager
Mr. Delory joined New England Steamship in 2011 as part of our Operations Department, managing vessel accounts. His unique management style, ingenuity and ability to streamline our vessel operations division, has rapidly earned him the the position of Operations Manager. In addition, Matt has been instrumental in the expansion, growth and development of his department for the 42 ports we currently serve.
